Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s relationship may have come to an end, but the winery they purchased in 2008 for a rumoured 40m Euros continues to flourish.
From the Cotes De Provence region in the south of France, this pale salmon coloured rosé was created by teaming up with the highly-regarded Perrin family. It comes in a simple but attractively designed bottle, differing from the standard curvy shaped bottle that is usually associated with the region.
The wine is a blend of Cinsault, Grenache, Syrah, and Rolle. The delicate red fruit flavours reminded me of strawberries and cream, with light floral aromas. It’s crisp, refreshing and dry, and would be perfect for sipping at a summer barbecue. Unfortunately we currently have snow outside!
At between £15-20, it is expensive for a rosé, but as a treat or a gift, it’s worth splashing out. For a cheaper alternative, try Aldi’s Exquisite Collection Cotes De Provence Rosé at £5.99.
